Turbulence — the Science Museum
The problem
The Science Museum's Winton Gallery needed a permanent film that explains the Navier–Stokes equation to people walking past it, on a two-sided screen directly under the aeroplane the gallery is built around.
What I did
Working with James Norton as NA-Films, we used one exhibit — the Handley Page H.P.39 “Gugnunc” — as the way in, and mixed motion graphics with filmed and archive footage to show that the equations describing air and water flow are already everywhere around you.
What happened
The film is a permanent exhibit in the Winton Gallery.
